East coast girl by destiny but west coast girl at heart.
Los Angeles quickly became one of my favorite places after the first time i visited in 2015. Below is a list of some of my favorite things from my last trip in November of 2019.
Camp Flog Gnaw Year 8 at Dodger Stadium Nov 9-10
I am a diehard Yankees fan but I made it to Dodger territory to my first large scale California festival.
Working on festivals for a living makes it hard to enjoy attending any. I find myself telling myself how I would have done something differently. But i really enjoyed this festival.
The artist YG performed and had a Bompton house setup where his merch was sold.
Inside YG’s Bompton House
YG brings out Stormy Daniels for his song called “F*** Donald Trump.
The festival grounds included 2 Ferris Wheels and 2 carnival ride areas.
Pros:
This was my first California based festival that I was able to attend.
I gained extra knowledge on large scale festivals that I was able to bring back to my job.
I got to see Drake get booed by the crowd live due to people wanting Frank Ocean.
I witnessed Stormy Daniels being brought out onto YGs set for his song called “F*** Donald Trump*
I made it to Dodgers Stadium ( as a diehard Yankees fan I felt like a traitor) which is on my bucket list to attend as many baseball stadiums as I can.
I got to see YG, DA Baby and 21 Savage live.
Special guests were: Lil Uzi Vert, Asap Rocky and Drake all whom I had never seen perform.
Cons:
The thing that overwhelmed a lot of people was the size of the festival grounds. It was sometimes difficult to get a good spot to see an artist if you had to travel from one stage to another.
VIP only had a private viewing area on the main stage.
Long lines everywhere for everything especially in the evening when the main acts were scheduled.
I missed Juice World’s last performance at a festival.
