Madrid, Spain- Trafalgar Tours

TRAFALGAR TOURS

Trafalgar Tours is a trusted group travel brand that I have been able to travel thru Europe on 2 different big trips. This last trip was a Spain, Portugal and Morocco excursion.

Took a first class flight straight to Atlanta where we boarded to head to Madrid. Well that was the plan, on our flight they instructed that some of the sensors were coming on in the plane and that we had to re route to Philadelphia. At this point we had been traveling for 12 hours to only make it 2 hours away from home. We landed and they inspected the plane and ended up boarding us all on a new first class flight to Madrid. With the mixup in timing of the flight arriving in Madrid we had 1 hour when we landed to make it to the hotel in time for our group welcome dinner. We made it to the hotel as the group was boarding the Coach bus. We had time to drop our bags at the front desk and hop on the bus. But we made it! lol

Our intro dinner was at Cinco Jotas, the Padre Damien location. They are known for their meats, especially pork.

Our outfits weren’t too bad for traveling all day.

I do not eat a lot of pork so Spain and Portugal were at times hard for me to find something other than bread, sides and dessert to eat.

We stayed in Madrid at the Melia Castilla hotel for 2 nights.

We got to sight-see in Madrid at some of the many Plazas they have.

Plaza De Espana aka Don Quijote square

Madrid was full of graffiti and tagging everywhere. It is unusual especially because it is illegal there to tag. This picture was taken in Plaza De La Cebada.

Real Madrid Football Club

Plaza De Cibeles. Of course Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer whose final resting place was in Spain.
